SOCCER AID FOR UNICEF HITS RECORD FUNDRAISING MILESTONE

What a match! Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2024, broadcast live and exclusively on ITV1, ITVX and STV this evening from Stamford Bridge, London, has raised over £15 million, for UNICEF’s vital work helping give children around the world happy, healthy, and play-filled childhoods.

We couldn’t do it without you. Every ticket bought, every donation made, every roar from the crowd has helped this year’s amount hit a record fundraising milestone of over £106 million for children worldwide since UNICEF UK Ambassador Robbie Williams created Soccer Aid in 2006.

WHAT IS SOCCER AID FOR UNICEF?

Created by Robbie Williams in 2006, Soccer Aid for UNICEF brings the nation together to help children worldwide have the best possible start in life. Once a year, England take on their opponents, the Soccer Aid World XI FC. Supported by passionate fans in an iconic stadium and broadcast live on ITV and STV, the event harnesses the power of football to help make sure that children can grow up happy, healthy and able to play.

TOGETHER, LET'S TEAM UP TO PROTECT PLAY FOR EVERY CHILD

HOW YOUR SUPPORT HELPS CHILDREN AROUND THE WORLD

By being part of Soccer Aid for UNICEF, you’re joining one big team – united by a goal to help protect play for children everywhere so they can grow up happy, healthy , and ready to take on the world

In every childhood, no matter where we’re born or who we are, there should be opportunities to play.

Children need to be healthy, safe, and nourished so they can play, learn, and get the best start in life. It’s a right, not a luxury. But for millions of children around the world, conflicts, disasters destroy their safe spaces to play: their playgrounds, homes, and schools. Hunger and disease threaten their futures, leaving them unable to grow up healthy and strong.

But your support can help.

The money raised from this year’s game could help children to get the best start in life. Through Soccer Aid for UNICEF you are supporting UNICEF’s vital work with families, communities and trusted organisations to create and protect safe spaces for children to play. UNICEF works to protect children from disease and malnutrition and respond in times of crisis, protecting their mental health and getting children back to learning when schools are destroyed. We also help provide vaccines to prevent common childhood diseases such as measles, so that children around the world can grow up happy, healthy, and able to play.

This year the Children's Investment Fund Foundation will double every donation made to Soccer Aid for UNICEF, up to £4 million. The money raised will help children get the nutrition they need to grow up healthy, strong and able to play.

Soccer Aid stars and children come together as champions to celebrate the universal power of play.
